Community is where we find our strength, reclaim our power, and rise—together.
Mentorship plays a vital role in the professional and career development of Black women, particularly in fields like public health where they are often underrepresented in leadership roles.
Our Story
Introducing
Legacy Mentorship Cohort Program
The BwPHC Collective Mentorship Cohort Program is an 8-week virtual experience designed for early-career Black women in public health. Offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, the program provides culturally responsive group mentorship, professional development, and community-building opportunities. Each week centers on a key topic—from identity and leadership to career building and collective care—empowering participants to thrive personally and professionally. Through meaningful mentor-mentee connections, engaging workshops, and a supportive sister-circle, this program helps participants gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of purpose in their public health journey.
In addition to weekly cohort sessions, mentees will be paired with a dedicated mentor and gain access to monthly 1-on-1 mentorship sessions for up to one year following the program. Through this extended support, participants build deeper relationships, receive ongoing guidance, and remain connected to a growing sister-circle of Black women in public health committed to mutual growth and success. Learn more about the program here.

Sister Circles
The BwPHC Collective Sister Circles are intimate, peer-led spaces designed to foster connection, reflection, and support among Black women in public health. These small-group gatherings create intentional space for authentic conversation, shared experiences, and collective healing. Whether navigating career transitions, workplace challenges, personal growth, or simply needing a safe space to be seen and heard, Sister Circles offer a powerful reminder: you don’t have to do this journey alone.
Held virtually throughout the year, each Circle centers on a theme relevant to the experiences of Black women in public health and encourages open dialogue, vulnerability, and community care. Sister Circles are where sisterhood thrives, voices are affirmed, and leadership is nurtured. Come as you are—and leave feeling supported, empowered, and reconnected.
